People Who Judge People

  • People who make you wait behind them while they back into parking spaces. Explain to me how it’s easier, please?
  • People who drive slowly in the left lane. It is called the “passing lane”,  not the “I like this lane better so who cares about the driver behind me who just wants to pass” lane.
  • People who take more than 2 minutes to order at a drive thru. You are eating fast food. Please don’t over think it.
  • People who complain about politicians, but don’t vote.  I know….but find the lesser of two evils. Or write-in Leslie Knope.
  • People who park their grocery cart in the middle of the aisle and wander far away from it.
  • People who give their child a very unusual name or name spelling, and get ticked when it’s mispronounced. It’s fine, but you asked for it. Be patient.
  • People who blast their music through open car windows. I like bass, too. MY song’s bass.
  • People who first demand an explanation of a poor grade from the teacher, not their kid.
  • People who drop major swear bombs in public when they know children are present. I may not have the cleanest mouth either, but $&%*# you, it’s my choice when my kid hears that word.
  • People who say, “Must be nice to have the whole summer off!” to teachers. It’s sad how someone forbade you from becoming a teacher when you were choosing a career. Oh, you wanted better pay and no kids all day long? Must be nice.
  • People who post vague Facebook statuses so that other people will ask them what’s wrong.
  • People who have not yet figured out the whole “turn signal” thing. You see, there’s a magic stick – right there by your steering wheel! It lets other drivers know what direction your crazy butt is turning, so they don’t hit you! Try it!
  • People who judge other people. (Oops…)

To be continued. (Preview: I am not perfect.)

(I know. You’re shocked.)

  1. – People who leave their shopping carts in parking spaces instead of taking them back to the cart returns. This is only okay 1. if it’s the worst downpour you’ve ever been in (why did you decide to unload before the rain let up a little anyway?), or 2. You found out about an emergency as you were loading your car (Dad had a heart attack or sister is in ER). But I really doubt these things happen THAT often for the amount of shopping carts I see not in their designated places.

    – People who drive 10 mph or more below the speed limit. FREAKING PULL OFF THE ROAD AND LET THE LINE OF 20 CARS PASS YOU IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU’RE GOING OR YOU’RE INCAPABLE OF DRIVING THE SPEED THE REST OF THE POPULATION WANTS TO GO!!!

    – People who walk or stand in the middle of the isle or path when there’s obviously people who are also trying to access that walkway and they act as if they’re totally oblivious that anyone else exists in the world.

    – Motorcyclists who weave dangerously between vehicles on the highway. We just saw someone the other day go down the dashed line between lanes just so he could go like 90mph. SO FREAKING DANGEROUS. If you want to hurt yourself, fine. (not fine, but it’s a free country.) But don’t put other people’s lives in danger, because maybe someone didn’t see you flying up in the 0.5 seconds it took you to pass 5 vehicles and that person goes to change lanes.

    – Just about all of your postings and mine are about respect and being aware of others around you. We all should have the privilege to do things we want to do, but it’s good to think of how your actions impact someone else. Someone might want to go 40 in a 55 zone because they’ll get better mileage and they’re running extremely early, but perhaps the driver behind you is working 2 or 3 jobs and has exactly — minutes to get from one job to the other and is counting on going at least 50mph so they won’t be late. It’s disrespectful to leave your cart in the middle of the isle or walk in a way that you are blocking the ENTIRE isle so no one can go around you when they’re in a hurry.
    Thanks for posting, Meg!

  2. I am shocked you’re not perfect. It’s breaking my heart (lol) but hey.. I appreciate your honesty and expressing exactly how I feel #saywhatyouwannasay!

  3. I, too, am shocked that you’re not perfect. You were when you started out–that’s all I’m saying. Everyone judges everyone and thing–just wish they would all know the definition of the word a “thought”.

  4. People who see your turn signaling to get into their lane from waaay back and floor it so you don’t get in front of them. Me first! Me first!

People who still text and gab hands on while driving.

Parents who refuse to drop their kids off at summer school but instead park, walk their kids to your door and then scowl at you because you weren’t there early so they could leave but don’t get that they took up all the available parking so you had to park a block or so away from the school. (Elementary schools don’t have parking lots, street parking only.)

Bicyclists who zoom on the sidewalk, disregarding pedestrians and cars trying to pull out into traffic but expect you to defer to them on the street.

Did I tell you last year we got a student whose name really and truly was Cinderella?
